Here we are only six days away from Christmas. Sights, smells, and sounds of the holiday abound and are intermixed with good cheer and kind gestures. This evening I would like to share three parts of the magical recipe I have encountered this week that have brought me joy.
The first part is one I have come to look forward to each year – the decoration of the trees in Elmwood Park. The beautiful display makes me happy every single time I see it. Thank you West Fargo Park District for brightening up this little part of West Fargo.
The second part is the new Apple holiday commercial about a teenage boy. The commercial shows a teenage boy visiting family over the holidays. Throughout the visit he appears to be more focused on his phone than anything else, then on Christmas he gives his family an amazing gift. I promise you – you’ll be hard-pressed not to shed a tear. I LOVE THIS VIDEO. It will change the way you look at the seemingly disinterested teenagers in your life. See the video here.
The third part is the light sparkle snow we get here sometimes. It was falling tonight as I came home. I do not know the technical term for the sparkly snow (or if there is a technical term), but you know what I am talking about if you have seen it. The snow looks like it has an iridescent quality to it. It is breathtaking.
Enjoy what is left of these days of the holiday season. Take in all the beauty and magic wherever you may find it. The best part of the holidays is not the gifts – it is all the other stuff you can’t buy.
